Tags with Finnabair stamps

Hello world!
It all started with a package of glossy photo-paper that I never use, and I wondered if I could use it as my base page for some mixed media. I covered the glossy paper with some gesso and let it dry over night. Next, I was in need for some bright colors so I sprayed the paper with dylusions (bubblegum pink & pure sunshine). I quite liked the effect so the paper became the base for my next project...

In the middle of my messy desk,  I saw Finnabair stamps (don't forget to fly) smiling at me and I thought to myself, it's time to play with these beauties!! I found myself in a tag-modus, so that was the idea for this project. I used some stencils (The Crafters Workshop) and an old text stamp by Prima to pimp my background. Next, I used some metallic gold embossing paste (Wendy Vecchi) with a stencil, and I really like the way it turned out with the bright colors of the dylusions sprays! Now I was happy with the background, so it was time to play with the stamp set and finish off my tags. For the first tag, I used some fine wire and sprayed it with a homemade spray (inka gold). The second tag got some ugly glittered swirls that I painted with Art Anthology Wineberry paint. The third tag got some mini clear pebbles. Here are some pictures!!

I really love the bright colors of the tags, they make me smile!!
Think I'm ready for some sunshine :-)
What do you guys think?! Let me know, I like reading your comments!
Bubaai for now and until next time!

Mixed Media box with mini-album

Hello crafters out there!
I promised I would be back… :-)

Last weekend my mom and I went to “de scrapheap” (The Netherlands) for a fun workshop by Monique in ‘t Groen. We transformed a kraftboard box (Graphic 45), using some mixed media techniques, into a nice storage box for a mini album. After lunch, provided by the lovely Carla (store owner) we “attacked” the pages inside the box to transform them into a mini-album. I’m not really a scrapbooking person, so I found myself out of my comfort zone and I got stuck. When I got home I forced myself to keep working on the mini, ‘cause I have more than enough projects that I still have to finish, this one couldn’t go on that pile!! After a couple of hours a day breaking my head about what paper to use and how to decorate the page, I finally finished the mini. And I have to admit, I’m pretty proud of myself, ha :-)

Here you can find some pictures of the project and my very first video (yeah!). Down at the bottom of the post, you can find a short list with some of the materials I used. Thanks for stopping!

Discover 2016

Dear bloggers,

Yes, it’s January again, so it’s my duty to wish you all an amazing 2016! I wish you lots of sunshine on your face and endless positivity when you’re a little down. I wish everyone good health, love and laughter with your family and loved ones and of course some creativity to keep you going!

I didn’t create much last year (didn’t post much either…) so I thought about the things that I want to do in this new year. I really like creating at my craft desk, so I have to do it more often to be more “me”. But who is that creative me? What do I really like? That’s my goal, go on a journey and discover… to stimulate the creative me, I made this card to keep me inspired on this trip :-)

I didn’t make a lot of Christmas cards as well, I did some orders for people and lost the flow to make more for myself. Some people really deserved a card, so I made some new year’s cards instead, ha! I also made a birthday card for a good friend of my mom, using one of the stamps I won with a giveaway from Jennifer McGuire.

I really liked going back to my inks while making these cards, so that’s definitely on the list of things that I really like! Next up on the agenda, a creative workshop with some mixed media and album making… I’ll talk more about that on my next blog post so stay tuned!
